 Fun ways to teach colors to preschool kids (2–5 years) that work well in classrooms and at home:

1️⃣ Color Sorting Game

Materials: Colored bowls/cups, pom-poms or buttons

How to do it:

Ask children to sort objects into the matching color bowls.

Skills developed: Color recognition, sorting, fine motor skills.

2️⃣ Color Hunt

Materials: None or a small basket

How to do it:

Ask children to find objects in the room that match a color (e.g., “Find something red!”).

Skills developed: Observation skills, vocabulary, color identification.

3️⃣ Color Mixing Painting

Materials: Red, blue, yellow paint, paper

How to do it:

Let kids mix two colors to discover new colors.

Example: Red + Yellow = Orange.

Skills developed: Creativity, early science concepts.

4️⃣ Color Hop Game
